Fishing in Perthshire

Perthshire is extremely well known throughout the world for salmon fishing and the Tay is one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Europe. The Tay is the home of record fish including the largest ever rod caught salmon in Britain which was caught by Miss Georgina Ballantine in 1922, weighing 64lbs, and which remains the British Record. Trout fishing is widely available. Coarse fishing is becoming more popular in Perthshire and permits are readily available.
