Novar which is situated just a short walk from the town centre of Aberfeldy, provides comfort, good food and a warm welcome. Aberfeldy can be found at the heart of Scotland in the beautiful area of Highland Perthshire.

With Aberfeldy being at virtually the geographical centre of Scotland, Novar is the ideal base for walking, fishing, golfing or exploring holidays or short breaks. Most parts of the country can be reached in a day trip removing the need for moving accommodation.

The town of Aberfeldy and surrounding area has an excellent range of gift shops, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. It has an excellent 18 hole golf course, fishing available on the lovely River Tay and many nearby lochs and rivers and a wide range of walks which start within a short distance of the town centre. For the more adventurous there are many opportunities to participate in water sports such as white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking.

Highland Perthshire has a never ending list of lochs, rivers, glens, hills and mountains for the whole family to explore by car, bicycle or on foot. The whole area is steeped in history covering Iron Age dwellings, the Picts, Scottish clans, Jacobite uprisings and battles, castles to name but a few.

Novar itself has some interesting history going back to the mid 1800's. About 1861, a few well meaning ladies formed themselves into a society to help the sick and poor of the village and to create a home for the sick. This was formed in Novar and the street was named Home Street. Much of the money and aid for this home came from the owners of a nearby house, Killiechassie, which is now owned by the well known J.K. Rowling of Harry Potter fame.
